​The Latin American and Caribbean Economic Association Meeting (LACEA) and the Latin American Meeting of the Econometric Society (LAMES) are the most relevant academic events in the economics fields in the region. 

​The objective of the conference is to encourage debates on important economic issues for the Latin American and Caribbean region through the active participation of academics, researchers, policy-makers, members of international organizatins and students.

​This year's conference chair is Pablo Lavado (Universidad del Pacífico), the program chairs for LACEA are Alberto Chong (Georgia State University) and Ana Dammert (Carleton University) and the program chair for LAMES is César Martinelli (George Mason University)​
