Universidad del Pacífico reaffirmed its commitment to innovation and the promotion of intergenerational entrepreneurship by bringing together graduates from the Emprende 50+ Program in a networking event that combined inspiration, learning, and collaboration. The event, organized by Emprende UP, aimed to strengthen the community of entrepreneurs over 50, highlight their achievements and learnings, and foster new connections that enrich the Silver Ecosystem and strengthen participants’ sense of belonging.
A Celebration of Community
The event opened with messages highlighting the importance of community as the core of the program. Marita Ruíz Tafur, director of Emprende UP, welcomed attendees by emphasizing that Universidad del Pacífico “will continue supporting initiatives that connect generations, strengthen talent, and generate positive impact in society.”
Elizabeth Gómez, Project Manager at Emprende UP and leader of the Silver Ecosystem, underscored the human value of the initiative: “The true accomplishment of the Emprende 50+ Program is the network that has been built. Each cohort has contributed inspiration, mutual support, and new perspectives that today allow us to speak of a strong and forward-looking ecosystem.”
Silver Ecosystem: Shared Achievements and Learnings
One of the central moments of the event was the presentation of the Silver Ecosystem Project, led by Elizabeth Gómez. She highlighted how this initiative has consolidated an intergenerational support community, enriched both by the accomplishments of its participants and the resources provided by Universidad del Pacífico: meeting spaces, digital platforms, collaboration networks, and activities that strengthen employability and entrepreneurship at this stage of life.
“We want our graduates to find in the Silver Ecosystem a permanent ally—a place where their experience is recognized and their creativity is propelled toward new opportunities for social and economic impact,” Gómez affirmed.
A Renewed Sense of Purpose
The gathering also offered a space for reflection and inspiration with the lecture “Redefining Purpose and Entrepreneurship After 50,” delivered by Patricia Grisolle, specialist in market research and cultural transformation. The talk encouraged participants to rethink their projects and life paths, emphasizing that this stage of life brings opportunities to rediscover passions and pursue entrepreneurship with renewed purpose.
Participants then engaged in a transformative experience through the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® dynamic, facilitated by Alberth and Jennifer, experts in innovation, agility, and pedagogy. Using symbolic construction with LEGO pieces, attendees expressed their vision of the “entrepreneurial community of the future,” in a collaborative exercise that fostered authentic connection and co-creation of ideas.
“The pieces are the language, but what we truly build is a shared narrative that strengthens bonds and opens new opportunities for collaboration,” the facilitators highlighted at the conclusion of the activity.
