Honoring its commitment to strengthening public higher education in Peru, the Universidad del Pacífico, through the Leadership Center for Development (LideraUP) and the Educational Exchange Program (PIE), held the latest edition of the Leadership Program for Education in Times of Adaptation and Change. This fifth edition, held on June 18 and 19 on the UP's campus in Lima, was aimed exclusively at deans of public universities from different regions of Peru.
At the event, made possible through the sponsorship of the Universidad del Pacífico Board of Trustees, participants underwent two intensive days of training and reflection on the challenges they face in their institutional management and leadership roles. The program offered specific resources with which the deans can strengthen their strategic capacities, foster transformation in their academic communities, and respond effectively to complex and changing contexts.

Network of leaders to transform higher education
Since its first edition in 2020, the Leadership Program has been aimed at different levels of university governance: presidents (2020, 2021, and 2022), vice presidents (2024), and, this year, deans of faculties related to the disciplines of administration and economics. In this way, LideraUP and PIE continue to consolidate a network of university authorities committed to the ongoing improvement of higher education in Peru.
The gathering provided a space for open dialogue, trust, and collaboration that facilitated the exchange of experiences, learning, and common challenges. Each dean prepared a leadership case based on their own experience as well as exploring previous examples of adaptive leadership, which significantly enriched the group discussions.
With this new edition, the Universidad del Pacífico underscores its role as a strategic ally of public universities by providing training opportunities that bolster the skills of their leaders and contribute to the institutional development of the national university system.
