The Universidad del Pacífico begins the 2024 academic year

During the ceremony, medals were awarded to distinguished faculty members while outstanding students were recognized for their academic excellence.

On Tuesday March 19, [KH1] the Universidad del Pacífico began the 2024 academic year with a memorable ceremony in the Juan Julio Wicht (S.J.) Auditorium. This special occasion, which brought together students, professors, administrative staff, and authorities, was an opportunity to celebrate the institution's commitment to academic excellence and the preparation of leaders with purpose for the world.

The keynote speech was given by Stefan Reich Roden, director of the Leadership Center for Development (LideraUP), who reflected on issues of vital importance for the education and academic development of students in these times. He also urged students to develop their creative abilities and confront the challenges of today's world with an innovative mindset and without fear of error.

At the end of the speech, medals were presented to faculty members in recognition of their dedication and commitment to higher education. The academic vice president, Martha Chávez, chaired this vital space.

The professors who received this distinction were:

The next section recognized those students who obtained a double degree with the University of London or HEC Montréal, demonstrating their ability to achieve academic excellence on an international stage.

Union for excellence

During the ceremony, outstanding students were inducted into the Jesuit honor society Alpha Sigma Nu. Clara Dwyer, the society's executive director, offered a few words of congratulation and encouragement to the new members and highlighted what is expected of them.

Subsequently, Paola Leguía Moscoso, president of the Alpha Sigma Nu chapter at the UP, received the oath of the new members, who solemnly pledged to uphold the values of academic excellence, leadership, and service that this prestigious honorary society represents.
