Professor at the Academic Department of Economics and researcher at the Research Center Natural Resources and Environmental Economics area. PhD in the Program of Agricultural Economics and Natural Resources at the University of Connecticut (United States), holds a Master’s degree in Natural Resources and Environmental Economics from Universidad de Los Andres (Colombia) and The University of Maryland (United States), and a Licentiate Title in Economics from Universidad del Pacífico.
She pursued specialization studies in Social Evaluation of Projects at Universidad de Los Andres (Colombia).
Joanna Kamiche has conducted research on issues related to disaster risk management and public investment, as well as natural resources management and climate change. Her work, including academic papers, reports, and consulting reports, has been published. Currently, her research is focused on the use of agricultural information, efficient solid waste management, and economic valuation of natural resources.
She has served as consultant, on her areas of expertise, to the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of the Environment, and to International Cooperation institutions such as the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ), among others.
