University Social Responsibility

University Social Responsibility (RSU) is one of the foundations guiding the actions of Universidad del Pacífico. It is understood as the University's response capacity facing the need to transform society on the way toward a more humane and sustainable development, through the exercise of its main functions: teaching, research, outreach and internal management.

    Universidad del Pacífico was recognized by the United Nations' Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME).

    PRME is the first organized initiative relating the United Nations to business schools worldwide. Its mission is to inspire responsible education and research in management and to think of leadership with a global vision.

    ​On the occasion of the 2012 PRME Global Forum, held in New York, Universidad del Pacífico was recognized for the quality of its reports, which provide "a comprehensive summary of their activities, the detail of their impact, as well as thorough future objectives."

     

  • Memoir

    Universidad del Pacífico moves toward the training of globally competitive leaders, with initiative and an entrepreneurial spirit, with an integral vision, socially responsible and generating change. In accordance with this mission, the University has been a signatory and active member of the Global Compact from the year 2003 and has participated in PRME (Principles for Responsible Management Education) since the year 2011.

  Educating students through the process of Social Responsibility (SR) curricular integration, entrepreneurship and innovation promotion, and first-hand experience of social reality.​

Research

Knowledge production through the Observatory of Business Social Responsibility (BSR), the publication of research on Social Responsibility (SR) and the promotion of responsible marketing.​

Social

Society development through the Educational Exchange Program (PIE), the Workshop of Community Social Work (compulsory for students) and the promotion of student activism.​

Organizational

Effects on the university community through PRME, AUSJAL, GRI and Global Compact reports; efficient administration and good governance practices. ​

Environmental

Environmental sustainability through ecoefficient infrastructure, solid and electrical residue management, as well as awareness raising within the university community.​
