How is Universidad del Pacífico related to the Society of Jesus?
At the beginning of its institutional life, the Society of Jesus undertook on a temporal basis the administrative and academic sections of Universidad del Pacífico; it is thus recognized as one of the university's founders.
Since then, it has continually collaborated and has a voice in the strategic decision-making at Universidad del Pacífico, which is nowadays part of the Association of Latin American Universities entrusted to the Society of Jesus (AUSJAL), composed by twenty-eight universities from fifteen Latin American countries.

The Society of Jesus and the Board of Patrons are the two founding and promoting bodies of Universidad del Pacífico. Both guarantee the observance of the essential principles in its foundations, according to what is stated in the University Statute.
