Fabiola Luque Morales, UP Economics graduate, wins the Professional Global Award at the FiNext Conference Dubai 2024
April 19 , 2024

Her track record includes the creation of Economía Sin Filtro, a platform that promotes financial inclusion and education in Peru and internationally.

Fabiola Luque Morales, an Economics graduate and a true leader with purpose, made history by winning the Professional Global Award in the “Excellence in Finance – Innovator" category at the FiNext Conference Dubai 2024.

On February 29, Fabiola did Peru proud at the event's award ceremony at the Crowne Hotel in Dubai, earning a distinction that reflects her contribution to the global  financial and technological field. Hosted by InternetShine Technologies and backed by the Khaleej Times, the FiNext Conference is a world-renowned platform that brings together professionals, thought leaders, and innovators from the finance and technology sectors to foster collaboration and explore emerging trends in the financial sector.

"I am very happy to have received the nomination and ultimately to have won this very important award. Coming from Latin America made me experience firsthand the difficulties brought about by a lack of resources and how this situation can curtail the dreams of many," said Fabiola. "So from a very young age I decided that I had to work to reduce the gaps in the financial system, with innovation and education as the main tools and the private sector as the perfect ally to create wealth efficiently around the world," added the UP graduate.

Fabiola is the first Peruvian to receive this award, and, as if that were not enough, she gave a presentation during the main ceremony in which she addressed the important topic of financial inclusion from a disruptive approach.

Leader with Purpose

Fabiola is the founder and CEO of Economía Sin Filtro and has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to finance, technology, education, and entrepreneurship throughout her career to date.

From starting a small business during her university years to leading innovative projects on a global scale, Fabiola's trajectory reflects her passion and determination. And in Latin America, where more than 70% of the population remains beyond the banking system, there is a real need for initiatives like hers that improve access to finance and financial knowledge and, in so doing, promote equitability.

"I started up Economía Sin Filtro during COVID with the aim of providing a platform that trains ordinary citizens and SMEs on financial matters in a simple and dynamic way while promoting financial inclusion in Peru," said the young entrepreneur. "Now, we are close to launching a disruptive product outside Peru that combines financial knowledge, ESG principles, and mental and emotional awareness, encouraging people to understand the true meaning of wealth, embrace financial knowledge, and understand that financial health, coupled with mental and emotional health, are essential for life," she explained.

Behind the success

Besides her work with Economía Sin Filtro, Fabiola has excelled in the academic field, completing an MBA specializing in Data and AI for Business Transformation at HEC Paris. During her time at the business school, she founded the Fintech MBA Club—the first ever community dedicated to exploring the intersections between finance and technology. She was also part of the business innovation team at Worldline, a major French multinational—the largest in Europe and the fourth biggest worldwide—in the field of payment and transaction services.

Fabiola brings to bear an eclectic background and a global perspective in her ideas. "This award, which recognizes my efforts over the years, would not have been possible without so many people and organizations that were fundamental to my development. I thank my parents with all my heart and, especially, the Universidad del Pacífico, which in addition to laying the foundations for my training, was also my first employer. Professors Eduardo Morón and Jorge González Izquierdo were my first supervisors," she concluded.

Yet Fabiola's work does not end here. This year, 2024, she is preparing to launch a board game that will teach basic financial concepts, including ESG principles, and provide social-emotional tools to promote a meaningful life imbued with a spirit of managing wealth based on compassion and care for environmental and societal impact.
