ANGIE HIGUCHI

Professional Profile

Full-time associate researcher and professor attached to Universidad del Pacífico Academic Department of Marketing and International Business. She holds a PhD and Master of Science in Agricultural Economics with specialization in Food Marketing from Kyushu University (Japan). In addition, she holds a Licentiate Title in Business Management Engineering from Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina (Peru). Her strengths focus on multivariate analysis, econometrics, and statistics.
She has experience publishing in international indexed journals. She has conducted research on food security in Lake Titicaca, grape growers’ associativity in the valley of Cañete, cocoa cooperatives with the Acopagro case, coffee in Villa Rica, and empowerment of rural women in Condoray (Cañete, Peru). The latter funded by PEP (Partnership for Economic Policy) together with GRADE. She is currently working on research related to organic products and fish consumption in Lima.
Higuchi has experience as managerial costs analyst and project manager at Agroworld S.A.C. where she worked with strawberry, mango, and frozen avocado pulp. She has also served as research assistant at Kyushu University conducting research on rural development with quantitative and qualitative analysis in scientific journals worldwide with emphasis on agricultural associations and cooperatives in Peru. She has also worked as marketing assistant at the NGO Red de Agroindustria Rural del Perú (Rural Agroindustry Network of Peru) leading a market survey in Lima on arracacha chips for the Ecomusa de los Andres company from Cajamarca.
