Incoming Students Report

Incoming Student Program 2006-II

Maria Gustafsson
Jönköping International Business School, Suecia

The Academic level of the Universidad del Pacífico is very good. Here at the university, there is a very good and fluit access to professors when you need to make questions on various topics. This academic exchange experience gives me the opportunity to increase my knowledge of the Spanish language, wich is very important for me since I would like to work on Peruvian exports to other countries. In addition, it is an opportunity to live the experience in another culture very different from that of the Swedish culture.

Incoming Student Program 2005-I

Sebastian Paal, Denis Born
Leipzig Graduate School - HHL,Alemania

Since Peru is certainly one of the most interesting countries in South America the decision to study in Lima was driven not only by educational but also by cultural and geographical reasons. After getting used to the Peruvian’s attitude towards punctuality students’ life became very enjoyable although workload is slightly more tan expected. The university offers appropriate study facilities even though the non 24/7 opening hours are sometimes tough to handle for an HHL student that got too much used to the HHL working hour freedom. Besides that, Lima is way more “sophisticated” for a developing country than expected which makes life very comfortable with almost all the amenities that you enjoy at home.People in Peru and specially in Lima are really kind open-minded with general curiosity towards foreigners. This becomes specially handy in situations where the informality of the society – that touches almost every part – catches one up and a “Gringo” gets completely lost. Thus, it is more that helpful to get profound advice when traveling since none of the travel guide books is as good as local experience.Whenever there are some days off, Peru offers a bunch of travel opportunities such as beautiful beaches, the literally “breathtaking” Andes, the evergreen rain forest area as well as some really interesting neighboring countries. Famous sights like the Machu Picchu, the awe-inspiring Nazca lines and the Lake Titicaca make this adventure an unforgettable one.
