On August 20th 2019, the International Symposium “The Transformation of the Chinese Economy: Four Decades of Reforms and Internationalization and What Comes Next?” was held. It was organized by the Center for China and Asia-Pacific Studies of Universidad del Pacífico, together with the School of Economics and the China Center for Economic Studies of Fudan University, a prestigious Chinese University located in Shanghai.
The Center's Local Consulting Council held its launch meeting on June 28th 2019 at UP. The Council is comprised of distinguished specialists from the business, diplomatic and academic worlds. The members of the Council expressed satisfaction with the progress made thus far and contributed valuable recommendations for the future.
This important event was held on May 31st, 2019. It was organized by the Center for China and Asia-Pacific Studies at UP and the Latin American Center at Tsinghua University, which is ranked n° 1 in international rankings. The Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism and representatives of the Academy, Business and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru attended.
The Center for China and Asia-Pacific Studies of Universidad del Pacífico and the Australian Embassy for Peru and Bolivia organized this international workshop, titled "Indonesia and Southeast Asia: Exploring potentialities of relations with Peru" on June 4th 2019.
On April 23rd 2019, the Center for China and Asia-Pacific Studies at Universidad del Pacífico (UP) and the Institute of Hispanic Studies for Korea University of Seoul, in collaboration with the Peru-Korea Business Council and the National Research Foundation of Korea, held the Peru-Korea event: International Forum on Trade and Investment.
The Center of China and Asia-Pacific Studies of UP, the Diplomatic Academy of Peru and the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS) joined forces to hold a forum on September 20, 2018 to analyze the challenges of globalization, China's growing role in the global and political economy and the dynamism of the Asia-Pacific zone.
The director of the Center for China and Asia-Pacific Studies, Rosario Santa Gadea, holds a Doctorate and a Master’s Degree in International Economics from Université Paris Ouest, Nanterre La Défense. Dr. Santa Gadea is also a researcher and coordinator of the Economics, Business and International Relations Area at Universidad del Pacífico Research Center (CIUP). Favio Leiva, Master of Arts in International Development, Nagoya University, Japan and Bachelor in Economics from Universidad del Pacífico is the assistant.
