The Technology and Engineering Management Society (TEMS), Peru chapter, is part of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
Its purpose is to define, implement and manage engineering and technology projects. In addition, this society is involved in policy, manufacturing operations, ventures, studies of user behavior and socioeconomic impacts related to technology issues.
On Monday, December 12, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., the IEEE and Universidad del Pacífico will hold the IEEE TEMS Peru forum, in which they will present the new members of the TEMS Peru chapter. The members are distinguished full-time professors from Universidad del Pacífico School of Engineering: Alvaro Talavera (President), Christian Libaque (Vice President) and Michelle Rodríguez (Treasurer).
Alvaro Talavera (PhD) has experience in leading and using computational intelligence techniques in research projects related to energy, especially in the oil field. He was principal researcher in the Applied Computational Intelligence Laboratory (ICA) at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Río de Janeiro, researcher of the Group of Technology and Petroleum Engineering and project engineer in the Department of Weapons and Electronics at Servicio Industrial de la Marina SIMA.
Christian Libaque (PhD) was technical advisor to the directorate general for telecommunications authorizations at the Ministry of Transport and Communications and has served as independent consultant on telecommunications issues. He stands out for his knowledge of information privacy in the use of technologies, information technology management, impact of information technology on society and radio-electric spectrum management.
Michelle Rodríguez (Mg) works on issues related to the adoption of information technologies in emerging markets and the innovation of business models with information technologies. She worked as customer fulfillment professional at IBM, Operations Manager at Ingram Micro Peru and product manager at Cibertec Data.
The event will be attended by national and international expert speakers. In addition, there will be a workshop in which participating companies will share their experiences in the use, management and implementation of information technologies.
