In order to continue building bridges and strengthening strategic alliances, the International Relations Office (ORI) of Universidad del Pacífico did the following activities in March:
1. Institutional Mission to Silicon Valley from March 15 to 17, 2017. Dr Elsa Del Castillo, president of Universidad del Pacífico and Mariella Hernández, director of the International Relations Office, traveled to Silicon Valley. This mission included visits to the University of Santa Clara, where the presidents signed an institutional cooperation agreement; the University of San Francisco where institutional issues focused on strengthening existing ties were addressed; and Singularity University where possibilities for collaboration were explored. In addition, they visited companies in the Silicon Valley area such as Microsoft, Google and Founders Space. Finally, the Silicon Valley Immersion program, organized by the University of San Francisco for Universidad del Pacífico students and staff, was closed.
2. Visit of HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management of Germany: President Dr. Andreas Pinkwart and Frank Hoffman, director of International Relations at the institution. On the part of Universidad del Pacífico Dr. Elsa Del Castillo, president; Mariella Hernández, director of international relations, and David Mayorga, academic vice-president, were present. During the meeting, topics of institutional interest were discussed, especially the ones concerning the areas of Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship in which both institutions have common actions. Universidad del Pacífico has had an agreement with the HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management of Germany since 1999. As our university, HHL Leipzig is also accredited by AACSB.
