Class of 2016-I: Graduation of the Schools of Law, Economics and Finance and Engineering students

​Universidad del Pacífico held the graduation ceremony of the schools of Law, Economics and Finance and Engineering class of 2016-I.​
As each end of semester, Universidad del Pacífico held the graduation ceremony of the Schools of Law, Economics and Finance and Engineering, an event that took place last Wednesday, December 14 at Jockey Club del Perú. 

The 125 students who graduated in Law, Economics and Finance and Business Engineering attended the ceremony with their parents. Also present at the ceremony were Elsa Del Castillo, president of Universidad del Pacífico, Luis Agusti, secretary general; Roberto Urrunaga, dean of the School of Economics and Finance; Michelle Rodríguez, dean of the School of Engineering; Cecilia O'Neill, vice dean of Law; Carlos Deustua, senior partner of Deustua & Halperín Abogados; Humberto Nadal, general manager of Cementos Pacasmayo and Roque Benavides, former general manager of Compañía Minas Buenaventura.​



The President urged students to show their more human and critical side to what is happening in the world.

 "Above all, we wanted to cultivate, in those who are graduating today, the critical spirit that provides them with the constant look to themselves, in the first place, so as to become stronger and improve as professionals and as people. But also, the look to their surroundings, to identify the noises and to turn them into melodies of better coexistence and well-being. We also wanted to exercise them in the proposal, the reaction and the action and thus, instill in them the importance of exercising an active, creative and concerned citizenship for the community in which we live," said Del Castillo.



Meanwhile Cecilia O 'Neill, vice dean of Law advised the graduates "to let their eyes shine not only when they find a good job or when they solve a complex legal problem: but also let them shine when they feel they have managed to touch lives" she pointed out.

Finally, Michelle Rodríguez, dean of the School of Engineering, mentioned that this ceremony added 42 professionals to this branch of Universidad del Pacífico graduates: "Universidad del Pacífico has formed them to be those responsible leaders our country needs so much. To be entrepreneurs who respect the environment and treat their workers with respect, to be managers who manage company resources ethically" said the dean.

As in each graduation ceremony, the most outstanding students were awarded the Robert Maes special award and the merit awards. The awardees were as follows:
