For the first time, Europe will host the LASA main event, considered the largest network of professionals in the world dedicated to the study of this region. There, our researchers will present the results of important studies conducted in the CIUP, including the winning projects of the annual contest of Universidad del Pacífico Vice Presidency for Research.

Universidad del Pacífico will participate with seventeen researchers in the XXXVI International Congress of the Latin American Studies Association–LASA 2018.  It is the largest multidisciplinary group -including researchers on Political Science, Economics, Law, Mathematics, and Sociology- with which our university takes part in the main event of LASA, considered the world's largest network of professionals dedicated to studying this region.

"Latin American Studies in a Globalized World" is the main theme of the congress, which will be held for the first time in Europe, from May 23 to 26 in Barcelona, Spain. It is estimated that approximately 7,000 researchers, professors, graduate students, and representatives of NGOs and international cooperation organizations will attend. LASA estimates that this will be the largest congress in its history. In this framework, our researchers will present the results of important studies conducted in the Research Center-CIUP.
