Information about the visa



According to the new Peruvian regulations regarding immigration, all exchange students must process their exchange visa (ITR) directly through our offices before arriving in Peru. In that case, they will need to send their plane ticket and a copy of their passport (data page) to:​

The procedure for obtaining the visa is personal, so each participating student is responsible for obtaining their own exchange visa and completing the immigration procedures needed to study at Universidad del Pacífico. If the student has not obtained the corresponding visa, UP may reject the student's admission and inform the home institution.

UP is committed to providing the students with the acceptance letter and providing useful information on the immigration procedures they must complete. However, as it is a personal procedure subject to the approval of the Peruvian State entities (Ministry of Foreign Affairs or Migration, as the case may be), Universidad del Pacífico has no responsibility or decision regarding obtaining the visas, permits or approvals.


  • Exchange visa

    ​​​​The Universidad del Pacífico, on behalf of the exchange students will carry out the necessary procedures to obtain an the official visa.

    The procedure for obtaining this visa is as follows:​

    • The Universidad del Pacífico sends the basic information and the student passport number to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru (MREE). This institution approves visas and communicates with the Peruvian Embassy or Consulate in the student's country.
    • The Universidad del Pacífico notifies the students when their visas are ready. Thus, they may contact the Peruvian Embassy or Consulate in their country, which in some cases requests additional documents. It is recommended that you contact them before applying for the visa.
    • The Peruvian Embassy or Consulate issues a visa for the total days that includes the length of stay of the student, which are counted from the arrival to Peru.
    Although the procedure takes two weeks, the Universidad del Pacífico requests the visas between four and eight weeks prior to their departure dates.

User consent

In accordance with Law N ° 29733 (hereinafter, the Law) and the Supreme Decree No. 003-2013-JUS (hereinafter, the Regulation), the user authorizes, by his signature or any other form of automated express acceptance, the processing of the personal data provided to Universidad del Pacífico (hereinafter, the University), by any physical or electronic means, according to the purposes described below.

The University, with registered office at Av. Salaverry N ° 2020, district of Jesus Maria, declares to be the holder of the Personal Databank and informs that the recipients of the personal data will be the Marketing and Academic Services offices, the Alumni network and any academic or administrative unit of the University, which will keep the personal data permanently or until they are modified, depending on their nature; in order to use them in academic, institutional, administrative and commercial procedures as well as to process and manage information for the proper development of the provision of educational services. Based on this, the University is authorized to send information to the holder of the personal data on the various graduate, executive education and languages academic programs; surveys on satisfaction and educational service improvement; academic, artistic, cultural and entertainment events organized by the University or any of its units, for which it will use the mail, telephone or any other means of communication.

Also, for undergraduate students, the holder of the personal data authorizes the University to provide all the information stored in the University systems to their parents or guardians that request it and can prove their quality of such.

The user also authorizes the University to share, give or transfer this information to third parties; for the purpose of conducting telemarketing activities, keeping the holders data updated, providing information on job boards or meeting the requirements made ​​by the relevant authorities under the assurance that the University will seek that it will not be affected by any misuse. We inform users that the forms, through which they provide their personal data, include mandatory and optional questions which may be identified on each form. The consequences of providing personal data, authorizes the University to use it according to the purposes outlined in the preceding paragraph. The user's refusal to provide their personal data makes it impossible for the University to include it in the database that sends instant and up-to-date information regarding undergraduate programs, university extension courses or any academic program offered by the university, as well as other activities related to the University.
