Admission Routes

  • Aimed at

    Current 5th year secondary students, or school graduates from 2015 onwards, in Peru or abroad, who have been ranked in the upper half of their class in the last three years of secondary school. ​

  • Evaluation

    The evaluation of applicants is done based on the following aspects:

    • Academic performance: applicants should be ranked in the upper half of their class for each of the last three years of secondary school. Performance in the subjects of Mathematics and Communication will be especially considered.
    • Extracurricular activities: the main (cultural, sport, artistic or volunteering) activities that applicants have participated in for the last three years, either within or outside the school, will be considered. 
    • References: Each application will be supported by two confidential reports submitted by two teachers or authorities from an educational, cultural, sport or religious institution. The referees should know the applicant for at least one year.  Direct relatives cannot be named as referees.
    • Essay:  Applicants need to write a short essay on a topic provided by the University. Such essay will be assessed for topic knowledge and writing skills. 
    • Interview: The aim of the interview is to assess the oral communication skills and the personality of each applicant​.​​

  • Application Requirements

    ​​

    • Not having obtained a “Not Selected” result in any of the Admission Routes for Universidad del Pacífico.
    • Not having been expelled from Universidad del Pacífico​.

  • How to Register in this Admission Route

    ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

    1. Register in the ​​UP Web Portal (up.edu.pe/portalUP​) as a 5th year secondary student, or as a 2015-onwards secondary graduate.​
    2. With your username and password, log onto the UP Portal and register in the Selective Admission route under the Online Application tab.  ​​
    3. Complete the personal information form and upload the requested documentation.
    4.  Pay the admission fee on the UP Portal or in any of the authorized banks nationwide.

  • Documents necessary for registration

    ​​​

    • Applicant’s valid identity card (DNI). Foreign nationals need to submit their Carné de Extranjería or valid passport.
    • Report Card, Certificate or Record from 1st to 4th years of secondary school, and of all the 5th year terms already completed at the moment of registering as an applicant. 
    • High-quality, carnet-sized color front photograph (wearing dark clothing, on a white background, not wearing glasses or hats), in JPG format. The photograph should be from a photographic studio and should be at most one month old at the moment of registration. 
    • Personal statement describing the most important aspects of the applicant’s life, family history and reasons for their vocational choice (text length: two pages maximum, Arial 11 type, single line spacing). 
    • Written certification of the extracurricular activities performed by the applicant in the last three years. 
    • Two confidential reference reports, which should be sent directly by the teachers or other authorities, unrelated to the applicant, named by the applicant at the moment of applying to the University. The Admissions Office will email the referees directly.
    • Academic Performance Certificate (Form AD2), in which the school states that the applicant was ranked in the upper half of their classes in 3rd and 4th years of secondary school​.

  • Requirements and documents necessary for entry confirmation
    • A photocopy of the applicant's DNI, Carné de Extranjería or valid passport (on both sides)​.
    • Carnet-sized color front photograph (dark clothes, white background, not wearing glasses or hats), facing, and less than six months old. 
    • English language certificate recognized by the University, both the original and a hard copy (Optional)*. 
    • School Transcript from 1st to 5th years of secondary school. 
    • Academic Performance Certificate (Form AD4) certifying that the applicant is in the upper half of their class in 5th year of secondary school. The certificate issued by the school should include the information requested in Form AD4.

    *The list of English Certificates accepted by the University can be found in the Successful Applicant Guide, on the UP Portal. Applicants who do not hold such certificate at the moment of entry confirmation may submit it at any point during their studies at the Academic Services and Records (SAR) Office. They may also sit the English proficiency examination from the Universidad del Pacífico Language Center on the dates appearing on the Successful Applicant Guide​.​
  • Important Notices
    ​1. ​​The Academic Performance Certificate (Form AD4) is a mandatory requirement for the procedure of entry confirmation.  This document can be downloaded from the UP Portal​​.
    2. All documents issued in a language different from Spanish should have an Official Translation (Traducción Oficial) into Spanish.
    3. Applicants who studied secondary school abroad need to have their School Transcripts validated by the Peruvian Ministry of Education.
    4. Under no circumstances will applicants be allowed to change their chosen course or admission route​​​.
    5. An applicant will be considered an “Admitted Applicant” and will be entitled to a place at the University on meeting the following requirements: 
    -  Being selected in the evaluation process of Selective Admission​.
    -  Submitting the original documents for entry confirmation at the Admissions Office within the established deadline.
    -  Selected applicants studying in 5th year of secondary school should complete the school year keeping the required academic performance​.​
