About CIUP
The Research Center at the University of the Pacific (CIUP) is the inter-departmental and inter-faculty unit through which the University of the Pacific sponsors, conducts and disseminates research and consultancy.
CIUP’s mission is to contribute to the country’s development and democratization in a diverse and increasingly interconnected world. We fulfill this mission by producing knowledge about the national and international reality, generating viable proposals for change and having an impact on debate and public policy formulation. We also contribute to forming new generations or professionals and leaders who have a vocation to excellence and social responsibility.
CIUP is organized into six specialized areas. Although the specific project agenda may vary, our activities primarily emphasize issues relative to economic growth and development, regulation and competitiveness, poverty and social policies, natural resources and the environment, international relations, business administration and social responsibility. Our researchers are principally from the fields of Economics, Administration and Public Policy but also come from Anthropology, Sociology, Political Science, Accounting and Law. The majority have extensive professional experience in management or consultancy work with public and private entities both in Peru and abroad.
