Research Vice President at Universidad del Pacífico and Professor in the Academic Department of Social and Political Sciences. Ph.D. and M.A. in Government from Harvard University and B.A. in Political Science from the University of Chicago.
She has taught courses in Political Science and Governability, and on the social and political reality of Peru and the United States. Currently, she is a member of the Regional Board of the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies (DRCLAS) from Harvard University. She is also a founding member of Grupo Sofía: Qualified Women in the Social Sciences.
She has been a Director of Universidad del Pacífico Research Center (CIUP), and Head of the Department of Social and Political Sciences. She has also been President of the Board of the Consortium for Economic and Social Research (CIES) and has held the William Henry Bloomberg Chair at Harvard University, where she was also Director of the Program on Philanthropy, Civil Society and Social Change (PASCA). She has been a program officer for the Ford Foundation and a consultant for various other foundations and international cooperation agencies. She has also been a member of the National Working Group of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI), as a representative of the university sector.
