DIEGO WINKELRIED

Professional Profile

Associate professor and Head of the Academic Department of Finance at Universidad del Pacífico. He holds a licentiate’s degree in Economics from Universidad del Pacífico, and a master´s and PhD in Economics from the University of Cambridge (UK).
His research includes issues concerning monetary policy, impact assessment, development economics and quantitative methods. His articles have appeared in the Journal of International Money and Finance, Journal of Development Economics, International Journal of Central Banking, among other journals. His research has been awarded distinctions and international prizes, which include several editions of the Rodrigo Gómez Award from the Center for Latin American Monetary Studies (Spanish: CEMLA).
He has been Head of the Department of Macroeconomic Models of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru. He has also been a scholarship holder of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Scholar at St John´s College, in Cambridge.
